If you are interested in a true “smile makeover” that will transform the look of your teeth in a matter of a couple of dental appointments, then veneers or Lumineers may be for you.
Porcelain Veneers
Applied to the front teeth, porcelain veneers are translucent, thin sleeves that slide over the existing tooth and are cemented in place with a special dental resin. They are effective when whitening treatments are not. Before securing the veneers, Dr. Ayyubi will remove a tiny portion of enamel from your natural teeth to help the veneers appear natural and not overly large. Once the veneers are in place, your stained, chipped, cracked, or tiny teeth are hidden underneath. All people will see will be the white, flawless veneer. Only thing is, they’ll think the veneers are your natural teeth.
Lumineers
Lumineers are very similar to porcelain veneers. The primary difference is that they are reversible, because Dr. Ayyubi can apply them without removing much tooth enamel from your natural teeth. There are pros and cons to both options. Lumineers are not always effective in covering very stained teeth, and can be difficult to fit onto very crowded teeth.
Both porcelain veneers and Lumineers instantly transform your smile. Dr. Ayyubi will be able to recommend which option is best for your teeth. With either option, you will need to come in for at least two office visits. On the first visit, Dr. Ayyubi will take molds of your teeth that will be used to create the veneers or Lumineers. You’ll probably come in again for a fitting once the lab sends the final product. Finally, if all looks good, your new veneers will be applied during the third visit.
